For the past three years I have greatly enjoyed being a member of the Chicago Chapter of the Roots Worship Collective.
The Roots Worship Collective is a community of worship leaders and musicians who are interested in using a style of music that is grounded in American folk/gospel traditions in their church community gatherings. Their churches tend to be pretty eclectic in their worship approaches, but as a part of the mix of musical styles, they’ve found it effective to incorporate music such as bluegrass, old time string band, gospel blues, Appalachian, traditional, and New Orleans jazz.
